Russia didn't have anything to do w/ what happened *in* Charlottesville. After it happened, there was Russian involvement in how it was inflamed online (mainly on Twitter).

I think what Garrett is reporting is that Russia exploited the fallout after Charlottesville. They "fanned the flames" when they saw them, but didn't set the fire.

A reminder is warranted that the Discord leaks which have been absolutely critical to the investigation were published by a leftist media outlet. The left has tracked these people with much more accuracy and precision than the government has.

One thing I would like to know is what kind of hearing this was - i.e., was this a hearing on Russian interference? Or Charlottesville specifically? Because I'd imagine the level of detail on C-ville would be quite different depending on the purpose of the hearing.
