Yup, ok. I feel a little dense now! I had assumed coders, network engineers...

Fair enough. Not sure those people speak for the whole industry though

"Not all IT workers" is a flawed argument for the same reason as "not all men", "not all white people", etc. No one is saying that every IT worker is fascist... 1/

only that the IT industry is *structurally* an enabler of fascism. And, as individuals who participate in that industry, we have a moral obligation to use whatever power we have to change that. 2/

Not everyone who works in IT has power, esp. members of groups that are marginalized inside and/or outside of this industry. But many of us do, esp. anyone who is white, or cisgendered and male, or a regular employee, or a citizen of the country where they live/work. 3/

You're absolutely right. And that includes me. In my stupider moments, I seem to need a gentle reminder that I can do more. Thank you for being kind!

Absolutely ridiculous, the internet would be the first thing to go. Look at the fascism in North Korea. Look at what they are allowed to access. By fascist this person means that people are able to see/hear/read things that they personally disagree with. The internet is free.
