GEOINT POST: Every picture is worth 1,000 words - but only one location. Red highlights are (or may) be features directly noticeable via overhead satellite views, depending on imagery updates. Points of interest, within photos. Where did this happen? What do you see?pic.twitter.com/yDLdT1ldWU

Aren’t your compass directions backwards? Also worth noting due to inclination/latitude shadows tend to be oriented slightly northernly

Are they? I figure the sun rises East, and the shadow casts West. That was my reference.

I'd figured that there might've been a slight chance my North-South directionals could've been off. But yeah. Rise East, set West, was my logic behind using the edge of the show as a reference line for the cardinal directions... Hopefully they aren't wrong. ><

Found this: “shadows have a southerly projection during the day in the southern hemisphere. In the northern hemisphere, shadows have a northerly projection.” from: https://www.exploratorium.edu/chaco/HTML/TG-shadows.html …

North and South need to be flipped (think compass). East to West is correct and fortunately between 8 and 9 AM the sun is roughly directly East around Portland's latitude and this time of year.

Deriving a drive time of 45-50 minutes based on embed reporter shows the rough outline of where places to look. Could probably garner more info about routes (interstates vs rural roads) from the videos taken on their bus. That can be used to narrow more. https://app.traveltimeplatform.com/#/search/0_lng=-122.65009&0_tt=45&0_mode=driving&0_title=Portland%2C%20OR%2C%20USA&0_lat=45.53347 …pic.twitter.com/qrxht8fsoz

From this video, we see what may be a single lane unimproved driveway to the location and a structure on the right. This is right before departure so let's guess 9:30ish? The shadows indicate this is to the east of your photo and and runs west to east. https://twitter.com/FordFischer/status/1025784000642596869 …pic.twitter.com/8dTybiItZ9

The rest of the video has a nice overview sweep of the property which includes a white picket fence that should be useful for satellite comparison.pic.twitter.com/4I6qgccpCN

In the Southern hemisphere it points south. My guess is the photo was taken somewhere in the Western hemisphere.
