Fellow queer/PoC activists: how do we reconcile being anti-police and no-good-cops with being pro-private-security-force (or at least in favor of helping organize the workers doing those jobs)? I'm struggling to think through some of these nuances.

You can't, for instance, operate a Redneck Revolt chapter and train for event security without potentially violating state and federal laws. Hold a security license and charge someone $1 for a security services contract and it becomes 100% legal.

I'm not no-good-cops. But I think that one can reasonably support private security separately in a similar line of philosophy to self-defense, because private security is about protecting the purchaser or an interest of theirs.
-
The line is not clear, for instance because private security protocols have an escalation path through police. But I think that at the ends, the distinction is quite apparent.
-
I also think that in both cases, it ultimately depends on actions. Security personnel can abuse their authority just the same as anyone else.
