Fellow queer/PoC activists: how do we reconcile being anti-police and no-good-cops with being pro-private-security-force (or at least in favor of helping organize the workers doing those jobs)? I'm struggling to think through some of these nuances.

With you there re community service. But are tech company security only protecting their own communities or are they agents of a power that isn't accountable to nearby communities?

They are protecting their corporations' legal liabilities, because security services are legally-regulated and therefore act as an accountability shield.

Incidentally, had I stayed in the states, I was going to do armed security certifications for precisely this purpose.
