It's 12:30 and I should be sleeping but instead I'm digging through old online content from when I was an asshole to see how asshole-ish I was. It's surprisingly not as bad as I remember.

I am fairly certain I never made any outrageously racist jokes but there is definitely implicit racism, ableism, and classism in some of those posts. The difference between a decade-ish ago and now is that I recognize those things exist in myself and work to undo them.

It's not even enough for someone to be racist then and not-racist now, for instance. It's about the work one does to push back against racism first in their selves, and then in the community around them. And yes, in that order.
