sweet summer child. the law will never protect us or punish white supremacists.

I guess I don’t understand the outrage like...as if the govt hasn’t been criminalizing protest since like...the beginning of colonization...??? So just like a white people freaking out thing
-
I’m not sure the scope of people that are freaking out. I’ve seen concerns from anti-fascists, people with the need to filter the air they breath, furries, and trick-or-treat enthusiasts. I doubt the law will pass, but I’m interested in the fact that it was even introduced.

The concern is the targeting of it specifically against activists, and that's a rightful concern.

But my take is, and always has been, this: facial recognition is getting good enough to ID through a mask, gait recognition is viable in 5 years, so concealment is a tactic with a shelf life and evolution is needed, bill or no.

Yes. agree with everyone’s sentiments. Guess I am just
when certain privileged groups freak out over something like this (now) when there is still proof that they will always be the last targeted/other groups will be targeted first a la what’s happening with emily -
I hear you, and that is valid as fuck.
-
Also I have immense privilege still being white and not targeted by the state.just repeating sentiments I guess I’ve heard from black and brown activists, trans activists, disabled, etc
