This. Very much this. Look, "Charlottesville" came to me, I didn't go to Charlottesville. The Nazis have elevated me to being some kind of bogeyman, simply because I have worked with the media and denied them a monopoly over a very effective tool.https://twitter.com/danieleharper/status/1016636413763375105 …

And all of this is weird, right? Because like, I didn't actually do anything. I didn't want to do anything. I didn't want to be pepper sprayed. A bunch of people crossed state lines and came to my town, my campus, and decided to attack me because... I am trans and online?

What I actually care about and want is to build good technology and inspire people to think of how what they create interacts with the world and to be cute and trans and fill my world with love. I want to ride my bike and play hockey and read.

The fact that the Nazis have projected me into being some sort of ANTIFA SECRET OPERATIVE or some shit is really illustrative of the anxieties in their movement.

I haven't actually *done anything*. I simply helped media contacts, many of which I developed from my earlier work using my tech knowledge to shine a light onto governmental issues, understand some local context.

I don't feel so bad now about how I freaked out at the March For Our Lives. Had to leave early. I live-streamed some of the violence at Cville, and thought I was dealing with it ok, but apparently there's some residual issues.
