Anyone familiar with the state of the art in computer simulations of human biomechanics? i.e. posable virtual dolls with some degree of accuracy for real human movement under parameters like size and muscle mass?

The scaling issues are really actually crucial, because while you can think of a joint as a macro-mechanical structure, the issues of importance, like ligament motion, etc. are of orders of magnitude smaller scales.
