So I've been working slowly on a project to stretch some development skills and I think that I might be able to launch the MVP by the end of July? I'm excited.

One of my goals was to run it entirely off a static site. This was for two reasons: one, static sites are pleasantly cheap to host. Two, by developing a static site you get to really see how modern tooling fits in with data flows.

Part of what I'm doing involves manually reconstructing CI/CD steps, database operations, etc. Doing this by hand helps you appreciate what the tools are doing behind the curtain.

The other motivation is that I want the site to act as a portable archive. When you embed dependencies on backend software you significantly weaken the longevity of the data.

Text files will almost certainly still be readable in 100 years. A postgres db may become unreadable in 5 years if unmaintained
