I looked at Facebook for the first time in a few days today. I don't have it on my phone and I don't have internet at home right now, so I only get on when I can get to a working space or a coffee shop. I want to share what my community is enduring.

The indictment sends mixed emotions. Many feel that justice will not be found in the form of locking away Fields forever or even killing him, but in the eradication of white supremacy and the movement towards reparations.

We are dealing with lawsuits and criminal charges and endless fear of state repression for having the temerity to speak out against racism.

Many are screaming into the void because it's all they can do. It's hard to find a good therapist in town. Relationships are being upended. People continue to be harassed by Nazis.

All of this is in addition to the hellscape world the rest of you see. We see the messages that say "Get involved locally to make a difference!" We did. We got involved locally. We suffer now for it.
