I was in court for most of that trial & watched the video shown repeatedly in slow-mo. Taylor didn't appear to be threatening him. Here's another perspective that isn't necessarily in conflict with yours: nobody on Earth will hire him and the only way he has a financial future is by suing anyone whom he can construe as having wronged him. Hence the body cameras, etc.
