Difference between sex as a biological thing and gender as a (largely/entirely) social construct. "Trans-" tends to refer more to the former, non-binary to the latter. ...I think. As a cis guy I could be entirely wrong ;)

Trans can mean a lot of things, but its broadest meaning is anyone whose gender differs from that assigned at birth, which is true for nonbinary people. I am both nonbinary and a woman, for complex reasons, and the nonbinary label is about my rejection of conformist paths.
