For my non-DS followers: a lot of psych (and usability!) research uses Likert scale tests, e.g. 1 for strongly disagree, 5 for strongly agree. When papers publish results, they include some basic stats: mean, SD, sample size.

Because your input range is fixed to integer values (e.g. 1 to 5), it is possible to rebuild every possible dataset that can yield the mean/SD values as published and narrow those down to figure out more info about the study. It feels like dark frigging magic.
