The Marines chose to let a Nazi continue to be a Marine. Let's be really fucking clear about that hm?
Let's also be really clear that yet another Nazi got caught lying. Nazis murder, Nazis lie.
There is more to this story, so I'm not real upset, aside from the whole, "a Nazi is staying in the Marines" bit. This story isn't over.
Some more to this story: others have correctly pointed out that this was a *sunmary* court martial, which I overlooked and learned that it has a max punishment equal to what he received. And I'm led to believe he's on his way to being separated out.
The making false statements charge could have landed him 5. This is a comparatively light sentence, which I speculate is a result of a plea. And I'll let your imagination run wild about what kind of deal may have been struck if so.
Also worth mentioning: Pistolis wasn't charged with assault, he was charged with lying and violating orders. He is on camera appearing to attack people, potentially including me, but to my knowledge no one has sought charges against him for that.
This story isn't over and I would caution against drawing any conclusions or writing any fairytales about it.
Speaking as a veteran (Air Force in my case) with three cousins who are or have been Marines, this is not going to end with him being honorably discharged, and he can expect to be denied reenlistment if they don't find a way to administratively separate him first.
"Failure to obey an order or regulation" is a serious matter in any service branch, but the Marines take such things even more seriously. Worse, would be the making false statements. In the military, your word...your oath...HAS to be good. His isn't. This ain't over. Not yet.
I'd be shocked if an administrative discharge waiver wasn't part of how he ended up at a Summary Court (lowest court). I'm just more pissed it's not a federal conviction on his record.
If he has a BCD(bad conduct discharge) that WILL follow him the rest of his life like a Felony.
Wait. I'm glad he got punished, but not glad he gets to stay a Marine. WTF is that?
Right on dear Emily. May you be safe and keep gong strong dear sister. Blessings in your valuable work.pic.twitter.com/KiD1X4UyUK
Glad he court martialed. Why would he be allowed to stay in when two others were kicked out There's no place for neoNazis POSs
He should be given a medal
