iirc, this was an attempt to reduce the manual work involved in bricklaying, which often has health consequences. i.e., it’s coming from a good place rather than from a “oh I can build a robot for that & disruption!”
From the video it seems like there's still a lot of lifting and manual loading.
There’s a few of these being built, but one of them just takes a whole pallet of bricks, no loading involved (other than what can be down with a forklift or pallet mover)
And it’s not just the heavy lifting, it’s also things like sunburn, dehydration, cancer (from sun exposure); but the heavy lifting is a major factor. Essentially, this is being designed for human good, rather than, like food delivery robots that are pure capitalist hell
