With all the talk about self-harm lately, it cannot go without notice how all of the rhetoroc--ALL OF IT--has completely ignored how suicidality affects trans people.

- Checkins aren't enough if you don't know how to help! We need to build culture of care and compassion. Culture of care means unlearning transphobia and that means your own and that means taking your peers and friends to task for theirs all by yourself. You doing that?

Trans folks have some of the highest rates of attempts and ideation and yeah trust me we all see the gaping fucking hole in your narratives.

The Samaritans have been ok with me but it's always a decision of whether to come out and have the conversation be about transition whatever I want to talk about or not come out and they assume I'm F :-/
