Previous tweet in thread argued that declining public trust in press is due to attacks by powerful people trying to tear it down, so Musk's point appears to be that those who own the press are similarly powerful. But yeah, that is... not a great way to phrase that response.

If it weren't a dogwhistle, he would immediately apologize for the poorly chosen remark, make strong statements against white supremacism, and back it up with big donations to orgs fighting it.

I'm unsurprised by his recent rants. I find what his companies are trying interesting, but I've no illusions as to whether he is a nice guy. I just wish all the idiots wouldn't flock to him when his sociopathy rears its head. Way too much of that going around.

I wish I could expect better from someone who grew up with all the ill-gotten gains of apartheid.
