Part of the genius of the typeface Digestive by Jérémy Landes () is that it evokes such intense negative responses from autistic people. In this post, we discuss more of those.

Do you often find it hard fall asleep? I know for sure I relate to noise sensitivity keeping me up 🙀

Has anyone heard of Mew2King, an autistic Super Smash Bros. Melee world champion? I didn’t know who he was until this article, but he is quite a fascinating person! After that, I watched several videos about his story on YouTube.

With his autistic focus, drive for perfection, and an impressively analytical mind, Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman became a . Melee world champion, and a force to be reckoned with. Here is his amazing story and path to success:

This is a very important message! Work with the needs and capacities of the (autistic) child, rather than trying to force them into a mold that doesn't fit them. Read more here:

Not all fonts are designed to be read comfortably. Text typefaces should provide a pleasant reading experience, but display typefaces primarily need to attract or evoke a strong reaction. Here is a poster with the typeface used together with two other typefaces.

Here is the closest neutron star known, called RX J1856.5−3754. Its mass is 90% of the Sun, yet it has a radius of only 19–41 km, possibly even smaller!

Correction. There are six display fonts, but one additional text version. Here are five of the display fonts. Quite Lovecraftian.

This typeface called Hate is the most disgusting typeface I have ever seen. Like a festering hairball.

I bought the typeface when it was still in production. Last week I decided to play with the outlines of G, and made this below. The center one is the original. The others are my customizations. Weight on the vertical axis, and contrast on the horizontal axis.

Somehow I think the typeface works so perfectly here with the harp. You might also see the letters as vibrating strings. But I agree, it seems quite useful for occult stuff.

I initially planned to use it for the title of the mailing list. You certainly wouldn't set an extended text in it. It does come with a text variant as well, which is comparatively normal, but still no comfortable choice for a novel, of course.

Yeah, it’s deliberately off. The P reminds me of a typeface I was working on at one point. Below you can see my typeface and the source material, which is this charming imperfect squarish all-caps sans. Still love the look. I should finish it and add lowercase.

Typography! The typeface below may look reasonably standard, but there are some amazing idiosyncrasies! Look at the high contrast in the joints, the small bowl of P, the strange weight distribution in the loop and bowl of g, the crazy spur and bowl in a, and the squarish t! 🤩

For better or worse, this is part of it.

Alexithymia is so common among autistic people that it is commonly mistaken for autism itself. Here I explain what alexithymia is and how it presents itself in autism. A lot of fascinating information in this post!
