A fly-by visit to ask for your help with something important, my lovelies. This is a friend of mine, drumming up support for making an online kids book festival fully inclusive with BSL interpreters.

If you were hoping to get a copy of Atlas Alone at Eastercon before it sadly had to be cancelled, you can still get a copy from the lovely here:

Just spoke to my Nana to wish her happy birthday, and asked her how she's doing. "Oh, I'm fine, luv. Painted me shed today." She is 84 years old, a proper Northern matriarch, a smidge over five feet tall and a force of nature. I love her so much.

I adore Guns of the Dawn, it's one of my all time favourites. Getting the chance to narrate the audiobook was a dream come true!

  7. Brother's Ruin by , a review in 4 parts: 1. The story and characters - I loved these characters. I felt so drawn to the main and secondary characters. Interactions were genuine and period accurate. It had a great flow and felt natural. Nothing about it was forced.

Many thanks to everyone who has sent me lovely messages about the Best Series Hugo Award nomination for my Planetfall books. I don't think I can answer them all! And of course, huge thanks to everyone who voted to put them on the shortlist! I am overwhelmed.

For emotional balance I am rewatching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries because it too is wholesome AF but also joyful and glamorous and romantic and because Jack. And the outfits are to die for.

It is on UK Netflix and I am part way through season 2. Never saw it before now as it just didn't seem my cup of tea. But it is wonderful, and good to watch for a needed cry.

Lovelies, may I recommend finding a 'crying program' to help with coping atm? I have discovered 'Call The Midwife' is perfect for mine. Something comforting but also filled with sad things that are cathartic and safe to sob about. Good emotional release valve.

Just confided to m'bestie that for many years I was too scared to watch the Great British Bake Off in case it made me too anxious. I managed 4 episodes last year but the stakes got too high for me. I am such a Bertie.

It me, but with alternative script: Godlike voice: You want the end of unfettered capitalism and an end to the hellscape it creates? Me: Yes! Godlike voice: You're just imagining it. It's not time for luxury gay space communism yet. Me: Well, shit.

So one of my eyes has swollen up (hope it's just a stye), I'm lucky to just be tired all the time, and everything is awful, but thank fuck it isn't March anymore, eh? Off you fuck, March. Off. You. Fuck. And as for you April... *sighs*... let's just get this over with, shall we?

I made an apple crumble this evening, it was very tasty. I never would have guessed that I would be a compulsive cook in a pandemic but stranger things have happened at sea. Or something.
