the letters to the departmental chiars of 4 ECRs, 3 of whom are BIPOC women. I have no intentions of rehearsing the inciting incident or the letter's content but, having been a recipient of tweets related to this mess, the malevolence is troubling.

Over the past year, I've advised the 4 ECRS to completely disengage from exchanges with the individual as the best path. This week the "whyte" woman used their "marginalized" identity as a sex worker/academic in an exercise of academic white privilege

and white woman fragility in what I consider a blatant act of racism toward the 3 BIPOC women. When a screenshot of the the attempt surfaced on Twitter, posted by one of the ECRs (a white male), Twitter acted swiftly to have the screenshot removed.

That the letter was written and sent to department chairs ... Welp There are receipts, despite blocks and removal of tweets/replies. As someone who has watched this situation unfold, I'm encouraging these 4 ECRs, especially the BIPOC women,

to pursue whatever legal means necessary to stop this. When you do so, insist on fully documented evidence to support the person's claims. Continue to not engage.

Racism and white women's fragility are the weapons being used in this situation, specifically targeted. Marginalized identity is no excuse. Anonymity is often the tool of an oppressor. The person behind this situation is deeply problematic.
