Thank you for your service- so you were not transgender while in service- or post service - I’m curious as to why not?
Fear, brimstone and fire. I grew up in a very Evangelical home and any form of feminity was quashed. I have amazing parents though. I suppose it was the desire to conform and meet societal expectations. In the end faith saved me. I found strength in trust. It was my path home.
So you chose to enlist in the Marines willingly with no objection to the ban, you served, and moved forward with life. You know the military can’t create two classes of ppl- things that deny others entry can’t allow certain ppl entry- that’s discriminatory.
I served because I love my country. It was a different time in the 90’s. True freedom doesn’t care who you are, where you come from, or who you love. It just wants you to defend it.
There are hundreds of things that preclude service, in addition is medication- so one class of ppl allowed to stay while others would be discharged wouldn’t be fair; we are a uniformed service. Have a great day.
