Sir, I urge you to be prudent. This is a time for mindfulness and introspection. The Iranian perpetration the world watched this evening was not an attack on US soil. Rather a measured attempt of international self-preservation.
I would urge you to consider deeply that if our forces were to return live ordinance into Iran, our country would cross a line of demarcation that would only draw our war weary nation into further deadly conflict.
One would imagine our allies would be reticent in bolstering our campaign, particularly with contributing coalition forces should further escalation materialize. We’ve spent $7T dollars on war the last two decades. The coffers lay low, and support internationally is delicate.
The American People are good people, as are the Iranian people. It is the duty of the citizens of Iran to drive change in their country. Our responsibility as Americans is to show the world what freedom, democracy and ingenuity can bring. Prudence, Mr. President.
War is a terrible thing. Steady our young and brave warriors. Take heed of your general’s counsel. I can only image the dread that must be in the hearts and minds of those with loved ones overseas. They are in our thoughts this evening.
