    Senator, you cannot acquit a defendant that you find guilty. Once you say he's guilty, you must convict. To do otherwise would reveal that your claim that current evidence was sufficient was a canard, a ruse to skate past the testimony that would reveal the other conspirators.

    This puts Cipollone’s letter declaring Trump would not cooperate in a whole new light. He wasn’t just trying to cover up Trump’s wrongdoing, but also his own exposure.

    The framers believed that there should never, ever be a partisan impeachment. That is why the Constitution requires a 2/3 vote of the Senate for conviction. Yet not one House Republican voted for these articles. 12/15

    If Trump is acquitted, he can call on foreign govts tomorrow to investigate every Democrat in our nation (and do so in secret). He can ask DOJ to target every Democrat as well, too. And his legal argument,voiced by his lawyer,is that there is nothing wrong with this. Buyer beware

    Alexander says, even if Trump did what they say he did, we shouldn’t hear more evidence because the vote on articles of impeachment wasn’t bipartisan. So we should just let the people vote. He seems to have missed the whole part about the president tampering with the election.

    I worked with other senators to make sure that we have the right to ask for more documents and witnesses, but there is no need for more evidence to prove something that has already been proven and that does not meet the U.S. Constitution’s high bar for an impeachable offense.1/15
