So, taxpayers pay to buy them guns and ammunition but not to house them? Am I understanding you correctly? And which homeless population are you talking about? The heroin addicts in the Jungle in Seattle who are selling their kids for sex for drug money, car-homeless? important.
-
-
-
No, you are not understanding correctly, this is a voluntary initiative. Crowd funded, not government funded.
-
Either way, it does not resolve the homeless problem of these individuals. Find the ones that are down on their luck. Get them temporary housing, give them help in finding a job, help them save money to rent an apartment. Then help the others with the addictions and disorders.
-
Yep! But that takes people actually getting involved, cant be delegated to government or a bureaucracy or it would be solved already.
-
Well, if government got a hold of it they would only make the problems worse. Like handing out shotguns to the homeless in order to take care of the homeless people's security needs.
-
Government would never give shotguns to the homeless. They are too busy keeping them homeless.

Who thinks they're "sub-human"?!?!?!? I've lived in the UN-gentrified parts of Brooklyn, L.A. (in South Central for the Rodney King riot), and Houston, and NEVER met a soul who thinks that way. What circles do you run in, Sir?
-
It's not the circles I run in, it's the responses on social media. It's pretty disturbing to read how people think of fellow humans.
-
The only thing is disturbing is the thing that you’re running for Senate seat

Really not a good plan there’s a reason why they’re already homeless and I don’t want somebody who’s already stressed out Caring gun trying to protect our society

Funny you have a picture of the 2nd amendment, yet you don't seem to support it. Apparently rights are only for the priveledged. That makes me sad.
-
The debate is MENTAL health. Majority of homeless are mentally ill, addicts, and people who just dont want to be saved because they have zero interest in saving themselves. Arming the homeless (mentally ill) is Outrageous and YOU DO NOT have my vote. That is an asinine idea

You want to arm the homeless with shotguns?? Obviously you haven't thought this through at all. Mental illness. Substance abuse. Inability to secure the weapon. How about feeding the homeless? Getting them medical assistance? A job/home? HELP THEM, don't arm them Pure ignorance!!
-
Self-defense is a basic, universal human right. It's not just for those of us privileged enough to afford a place to live.
-
I fully understand that. Providing a weapon to someone who is mentally ill, strung out on drugs, doesn't have the ability to keep it safe is pure stupidity. Assist them be getting them a job, a home, health care...
-
Mentally ill people have a right to defend themselves, too. About a quarter of Americans have a mental illness. The vast majority of mentally ill people aren't violent.
-
Please tell me you're serious. I'm beginning to lose all faith in humanity.
-
Of course I'm serious.
