Yikes. But glad you shared. I'm not sheltered, but I'm not one to tread in darker places. I suspected that the manifestation of male insecurity didn't stop with Trumpism, racism, and anti-immigration policies, but the depth of the misogyny in the alt-right is quite disturbing.

It is quite disturbing. In a way, the internet gives fringe groups legitimacy because it helps very rare individuals find each other and comfort each other. Pre-internet, they wouldn't be much of a problem, but now they have a community of sorts.

THIS. A million times this. For those with fringe interests (and I count myself in this, although it is a gentle realm) you used to be alone with your thoughts and passions, but now you can find kinship if you want. The darker side of easy social connections is now apparent.
