    So many collisions this year! Help a bird out and please turn off unnecessary lights during migratory season, especially if you’re in a glass building.

    We are deeply saddened by the mass bird collision events that occurred this week in NYC. With our partners across the US, we recommend turning off all non-essential lights during migration periods and call for bird friendly building design to prevent these awful occurrences.

    A great effort for Afghan women journalist, and in my mind also a tribute to the photographers who covered Afghanistan over the past 20 years. At least one lost his leg, and at least one, Anja Niedringhaus, died.
