    Jaywalking tickets overwhelmingly impact our communities, where our street designs are not meant for pedestrians. We shouldn’t be punishing our neighbors who are trying their best to get around!

    Jaywalking laws have nothing to do with public safety. Oakland PD deprioritized bike/walk stops in 2018 & issued zero jaywalking tickets in 2019, yet severe pedestrian injuries & deaths actually dropped 11% from 2017 to 2019. 🚨Pass

    ICE detention conditions for trans migrants like Maura Martinez are particularly dangerous - exposing our trans community to sexual assault & medical neglect. CA should not be assisting with ICE's anti-trans & violent practices. Pass now!

    Maura Martinez, a 41-year-old trans woman from Nicaragua, has been in ICE jail for two years after California handed her over: “I am a human being. I’m just asking for an opportunity to stay in the United States and to be free and be safe,” she told me.

    When I was incarcerated, I saw firsthand how jails/prisons exacerbated existing trauma & harmed women. I support to right wrongs of the incarceration system & to support women, esp survivors of domestic violence. Let me tell you why. 1/3
