Ludwig Lausanne’s Patrick Barth and colleagues developed a new computational method for modeling and designing protein allostery. The new method may allow researchers to design and re-purpose cell receptors.

Does anyone have good experience with axonGCaMP (), regardless of FP/1p/2p? If you do, is it significantly better than regular GCaMP?

Neuroscience twitter: Does anyone have experience with red calcium indicators (RCaMPs, RGECOs, XCaMPR, etc.)? What advantages/disadvantages does each one have? How do they compare to the green ones?

This UC-wide union will greatly improve the quality of the work being done, as researchers can now focus their extraordinary brain power on their job rather than their salary or their immigration status.

My opinion in a nutshell (for ): There is a definite need for inhibitory optogenetic tools. As a tool developer, I know that great tools require several iterations of optimization. Chloride conducting channelrhodopsins are on the right track. More to follow shortly?
