    Intersex has always been an LGBT issue. About every month I re-read "Bodies in Doubt: An American History of Intersex" by Elizabeth Reis. It's a reminder of how gay people and intersex people were viewed as equivalent monstrosities by colonial medicine.

    The new Greek gov is focusing on safeguarding borders instead of refugee lives. More deterrence at sea and land borders instead of more search-and-rescue mechanisms and, of course, zero safe passage or access to asylum without the perilous journey. Shameful.

    The new government is expected to place particular emphasis on deterrence at both sea and land borders; this raises concerns that the illegal practice in and the will continue unabated.

    The Greek Police of Evros regional unit attempted another push-back today, collecting 8 Turkish asylum seekers including 2 women & 2 babies near Orestiada, taking them to a police station in Chimonio in the morning but then the police denied lawyer access, claiming no detainment.

    Deeply troubling analysis of indebtedness among poorer UK households. In debt for basics like food. The system of loan-like benefit advances does not help at all. via h/t

    The poorest households have experienced the greatest growth in unsecured debt to income ratio since 2008, especially in debt for essential needs such as rent, food and utilities.
