I think it is more about pointing out the hypocrisy of the censorship that is happening. Trump was inciting violence at the capital. However Maxine Waters is ‘right’ so her incitement of violence is fine. As long as it is for BLM and against the police not corrupt politicians.

Also the judge overstepped when saying Maxine Waters was a reason for overturning the verdict on appeal. He just told the jury that they should decide based on the evidence & to ignore other influences including possible consequences of their decision.
