    Hard to create a new habit in the same environment. There are many strong triggers in a usual environment that affect your current behaviour. Be smart. If you struggle to create a habit, change your main environment. Get out more, travel, work somewhere else, other.

    Some projects are easy to estimate. An application that isn’t particular novel - like this voting app - should ship on time. A team that has worked together over time will know how long it takes to build relatively generic software.

    I’d bet my last dollar that the Iowa App that broke the was not natively coded, and is a webapp designed to save costs and run across a wide variety of devices. I’d also bet anything there’s no real backend, and it uses something like Google sheets for reporting.

    It also seems possible that this app simply had to ship by the hard deadline - but when the deadline came...it wasn’t ready. That’s not a QA problem, but the result of poor project management/estimates.

    I want to shout from the rooftops about the importance of proper QA testing.

    So we've spent like a year getting ready for the Iowa caucuses and they built an app to capture results and didn't test it properly and the app broke so the whole thing is for nothing? This is how our democracy works?
