Our seniors are the most vulnerable to #COVID19.
We must take add’l immediate steps to address the public health & safety at our senior living facilities during this pandemic.

2. Front line medical & support staff in senior facilities must have access to testing & PPE in the workplace 3. Strengthen mandatory staff protocols like temperature checks before allowed into facilities 4. Reminding seniors of important resources for food / meds delivery

You also need to strengthen seniors’ immune systems in order to survive a #COVID infection:
1. Stay active and exercise
2. Eat healthy
3. Don’t smoke or vape
4. Get enough sleep
These little things make a big difference.
Not catching #COVID19 is best, but many people will get it in spite of rigorous infection control efforts. We need to prepare to survive an infection by activity engaging in better, healthier behaviors. Be prepared just in case.
Health directors have failed our elderly population. Put the blame where it should be.
These policies are being strictly enforced in my mother-in-law’s facility. Isolated in their rooms, delivering food to the room, temp taken twice daily (staff and residents).
What brought on all this concern and all these bold tweets calling for action?

I have grilled the Mgmt where my Dad resides in Saratoga on their staff screening. I understand not being able to visit 3+ weeks now but I worry staff is bringing in germs in from their off hours.
Those of us with loved ones—many with dementia—in assisted living homes have been unable to go in for a month to see them. We don’t know if they’re eating or being helped with basic needs. Yet Staff are going in and out—home to their families. Please address this asap.
Elise, I keep hearing of billionsires and companies donating PPE supplies. Why are hospitals buying direct? Let people donate to citizens struggling. Where's the medical buyers? Hospitals aren't broke. If a billionaire can source PPE so can the hospital corporations.
