Additional ?s that need to be addressed as the Governor continues to walk back and clarify the rushed Executive Order roll out: -How the redeployment decisions are made -How NY will get an accurate snapshot of community spread in Upstate with a lack of testing supplies
-How will this EO ensure Upstate will have access to ventilators as numbers continue to go up all across the State -How are higher percentage populations of seniors addressed differently -Are the thousands of seasonal residents who are now in Upstate be considered in the data
Our North Country hospitals have worked incredibly hard to prepare for this public health crisis in our rural community w/ the highest % of seniors. They have shifted their surplus supplies & are working hard to care for downstate patients who have been sent here.
Upstate concerns and questions are valid and important as this EO announcement was rushed & our North Country hospitals and county public health offices were caught completely off guard. We need these questions answered for all of Upstate who have risen to this challenge.
