It's grant money from https://caring4denver.org/ right now ... will be interesting to see if/where it gets baked into the city budget. Budget talks start next week

Eugene Oregon has had a similar program for years as well. This is what some of us mean by defund the police - don’t make police do the work of mental health professionals.

Oh look, you don't have to shoot people to get them to calm down and relax over something most likely related to drug addiction or mental illness. I hope this works and I hope it rolls out nationally.
