I stand by my statement that I am disappointed in the (lack of) response to recent news by the Congressman for *the district where I live* I am leaving the tweet up because to delete it would be to hide that I said it, and I have acknowledged that the graphic was inaccurate
I didn't create the graphic and I am not a candidate anymore with a team to vet everything I post. I did check for any official statement before posting, and finding none, I went ahead. Should I have included a comment that I couldn't verify the source? Probably.
But the abuse and vitriol was not a proportional response. I don't condone that, even from the people defending me. And any comments about how long it took me to respond? Whatever - I wasn't on social media for several hours because I was spending time w my kid.
In summary, would I change how I presented the tweet? Yes. Would I still call on my elected representative to not remain silent in this case? Yes.
