In American politics I am considered a progressive because I believe in government funded universal preschool, paid leave and acces to healthcare for all. For the rest of the world, I am just a woman who believes in something called Democracy.

Why does the government have to find preschool for everyone? If someone has can finance it out of their own pocket, why shouldn’t they? (Fair enough if folks need it subsidized.)
The same reason the government provides K-12 education for everyone. And those people who can afford to and want to opt for private education can. But right now public preschool is only offered to a limited # of families, so most options are very expensive private schools.
