Taking school online affects low-income families most, who don't have the privilege to stay at/work from home. But instead of "reopen no matter what" we should be looking for solutions. (2/)

Those solutions: Have everyone who can, stay home Provide resources to families need laptops/hotspots Keep schools open for ONLY the kids of essential workers Have teachers opt in (not out) to work in person Pass policies to provide support to individuals during COVID (3/3)

yes! it can be done, it has been done, not the optimal but for now better than these kids going to classes with 30 kids not being able to social distance and kids wearing masks is like a whole other set of issues (there is a TicToc of a teacher of third graders, look for it)
