I know the defund part, it is a bad discript work though, but that will not fix the culture of most police forces. Until there is a 3rd party/community oversight, it still allows for the “good old boy” network to operate. New rules need to be implemented on a federal level.
Those are also reforms I support. Too long of a blog to include them too, so focused on defunding bc that's the word that's making it hard for like-minded people to wholehearted jump on board with until we unpack it together.
I think it really depends on how this “defunding” is applied. Not worried on where the $ goes, though it needs to be tracked, but only take $ where it is being abused/not needed. Also needed, deep dive into pension manipulation. HUGE $ lost to abuse of overtime vs. pension benies
