Our politics is incredibly polarized. And while we do need new leaders who are willing to get work instead of playing politics, we also need to fix the structural incentives that push politicians to be partisan. This starts with ending gerrymandering. 1/
Gerrymandering makes it so 75%+ of US Reps. don’t face competitive general elections and only fear primaries. This pushes politicians to take extreme stances and to only speak to their base. We must unrig the maps if we want to get back to work and end partisan theater. 2/2
