Jake nailed it. I had to go to DC years ago to meet with representatives and had to scrub for an hour to get the stench of “deal making” off. DC is all about legislative power, wall st is all about money and transactions, thinking that things work logically is a fools errand.

He’s right too. This amateur has followed for months and it was clear that McConnell never had the votes to get a deal large enough to aid state & local govts & satisfy the House. The White House postured but didn’t do any legislative arm twisting. Add in Trumpy and here we are

I see it a little different in that Fiscal is the narrative but not the only account available if you will. I get the feeling McConnell not very interested in legislative route but not going to let market falter in here either. He wants everything positive attached to Trump.
