While the WH punished reporters for asking Trump questions, Trump reveled in the attention of the print photographers allowed into the dinner spray, asking Doug Mills to send him photos so he could share them with Kim.
Conversation
To the still photographers’ credit, they refused to shoot the dinner if no reporters were allowed in, which was the initial WH response. Because of that solidarity, a print and radio pooler were allowed in with the stills. Four print/wire reporters were still barred.

This story is accurate: Sanders told pool, moments after the spray where asked about Cohen, that print reporters were barred because of shouted questions, and when asked if it was because of DPRK, she hedged.

Would also add that Kim answering this question this morning (perhaps the first time he's ever responded to a reporter) is a signal he wasn't the one bothered by the shouted question.

I asked Kim Jong Un if he felt confident he could get a deal with @realDonaldTrump. He replied: “It’s too early to say. I would not say I’m pessimistic.”

I love the stills - besides being incredibly talented, the still photographers are people of integrity. They help each other - and reporters too. Go Stills!

But overall no questions were asked of the president so the media WAS silenced but trump gets his pictures?

Almost great. They should have refused to cover if the pool was excluded in any manner.
