    For those absorbing the news about Anthony Bourdain who haven't read KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL, I strongly recommend picking it up, even now under such sad circumstances. I read it 15 yrs ago, not giving a rip about food (I was bored; it was on someone's bedtable) and was mesmerized.

    Short thread on this terribly sad Bourdain news. Got hired by for 3 days in ‘11 to take him around to the “shadiest” bars and restaurants in Boston for his show. I loved Kitchen Confidential (read it), so I expected him to be funny and brilliant, which he was, but..
