I spoke with about her new memoir, closing Guantanamo, prosecuting the Bush admin for war crimes, ousting Nancy Pelosi, Israel, Margaret Thatcher, Obama's legacy, her favorite Prince songs, and more! Give it a listen:

Be nice to your law school classmates because they’re going to be judges and you don’t want them to reject your motion because you were a jerk to them in law school says alumni orientation speaker. Seems like a damning indictment of our legal system. 🤷‍♂️

We owe Afghans a lot more than just an end to foreign military occupation: reparations, asylum, humanitarian aid, etc.

Textbook publishers, university bookstores, and the professors who collude with them are all thieves. Where's the check on this blatant price gouging?

In 20 yrs the US couldn't think of a better solution for staving off Taliban control of Afghanistan than occupying the country forever (which btw wasn't very effective). Those who want to stay think we're entitled to do what we want, for as long as we like, w/out accountability.

Whistleblowers at the *children’s detention camp* on Fort Bliss — read that again — have come forward with horrific accounts of mistreatment of children, with the interests of companies on a $1 BILLION a contract paramount. This isn’t Trump, this is Biden

This is flat out wrong. The article says "we know the solution, and it's policing" without grappling with a) the deficiencies in data re policing stopping any crime; b) other, better ways to reduce crime; c) the violence caused by policing and prisons themselves 1/thread

I am spooked by aquatic life, dislike swimming, and hate the beach, but a friend in Egypt goaded me to go diving today for the first time in my life and it was the coolest fucking shit

It would be like saying in order to oppose Islamophobia you must support Saudi Arabia

America owes reparations to survivors/relatives of the war-on-terror dead and ought to resettle the millions of refugees the war created. The US obligation to Afghans/Iraqis/etc extends far, far beyond those who served the US as translators.

It takes a staggering level of delusion + colonial hubris to command the world's most powerful military, illegally bomb a sovereign country thousands of miles away, then cite "self defense" as justification. The US only has the right to pack up & leave countries it occupies.

Lmao at Joy Reid who believes it’s possible to be an anti-racist and a general in the US military, likely the greatest purveyor of racist violence in the world today. Demonstrates how shallow her anti-racism is.
