. showed up in the inbox yesterday promoting an upcoming “Rhino 101 Webinar Series: Unlocking Benefits for Partners”, which is 100% for landlords, 0% for tenants, and I was just spirited by the reminder of how Baltimore smacked down these predator bros.

I’m gonna say it louder for the folks in the back: CITIES SHOULD BE DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE, NOT CARS!

Come ride Districts 3 and 43—at the same time!—with me and Delegate —at the same time!— tonight at 6:00. Show up early if you want something . They close—at the same time!—as we ride.

So, just to follow up on this, she concluded with, “And don’t respond to me with your dictionary looked up words or 14 year old girl emotional mentality.” and my day was instantly made.

We changed it up for July’s 3rd District ride, doing a weekend evening instead of weekend morning, and it’s looking to be the nicest day all week. I hope you’ll join me and Delegate for a ride through some of the overlap of our districts. 2 hours, 10 easy miles.

I’d also be remiss if I did not thank and the City Administrator’s Office for ensuring this happened. Getting agencies collaboratively engaged in advancing one another’s goals is not always the City’s strong suit, but I think we’re moving in the right direction.

A huge thanks to for placing these barriers at the entrances to the vacant building at Harford & Cold Spring, to the coordinated cleanup, to for your continued legal efforts, and to engaged neighbors for demanding better!

Update: She resorted to ad hominem attacks, delusional accusations, further ranting, and self-reference as a home owner. This is a person who not long ago I made a months-long heavy lift for, which initiated having never met her, only because I saw her complaining online.

“Excessive parking mandates that drive up the cost of housing contribute to the fact that 26 percent of ’s renter population are severely cost-burdened, meaning that they spend over 50 percent of their income on housing.”

“…parking is better when shared and the cost of parking should be borne by people who want to drive. Zoning laws have the opposite result. They impose the cost of parking on nondrivers — and on all of us.”

If you’re an affordable housing proponent here in Baltimore and you aren’t already adamant about the urgent need for zoning reform, please read this quick opinion piece and start learning more on the subject. Parking is just one part of it.

I am going to get additional data to add to this and this graph isn’t the ideal way to present this but fwiw here are Baltimore homicides (blue) and Baltimore Police gun seizures (red) from 1998-2020.

I complain about City stuff a lot, but if you show up in my inbox being rude and casting baseless aspersions on dedicated City workers, you are getting laid out in my reply. City workers are fucking champions and we don’t show them enough gratitude.

Regardless of how I feel about blood sucking corporations - especially energy - BGE’s gov relations staff is way better than four years ago. When a de facto part of your job is just relaying ppl’s needs to the right people, dedicated and responsive people are indispensable.

Nobody is getting ahead in city/suburban driving by speeding. It is a total self own. You just waste gas and are more likely to wreck, hurt yourself someone else.

I probably use this app a bit too much for the kinds of things I find, say, “on the one hand”. So, on the other hand, I got an email this morning from a constituent thankful that I was able to get him the assistance he needed.

A reminder, this is an example of what should actually be doing with storm water fee money and how it should be achieving its MS4 goals in ways that also aid in achieving its goals.
