As you can imagine, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on the American ecobomy. Hawaii is no exception. In response to the outbreak, Young Brothers had to make the decision to cut shipping schedules in order to stay afloat. This puts strain on the local businesses
that rely on this company for supplies to circulate. This affects everyone. Young Brothers would require $25 million for the rest of the year (from the CARES Act) to resume all operations throughout the remainder of 2020. The alternative is to raise prices in order to
compensate for lost funds that couldn’t be made as a result of the pandemic.
The people need monthly stimulus to sustain during times like this. The economy for the state of Hawaii is at high risk and we can’t afford to wait any longer.
