We need a government that abides by the rule of law. We have a constitution and a bill of rights to guarantee our protections as people against an authoritarian state. The Patriot Act and FISA are good examples of why we need those protections. FISA has not been renewed as more
representatives in Congress stood firmly against it this time unlike previous sessions. That’s a start. Now, we need to do something about the Patriot Act and the unlawful practices it enables the government to commence. A government that abides by its own law is something we
should continue to pursue.
