My opponent supported legislation that would require that any family wishing to home educate their child/children via traditional homeschool or via online public charter schools be subject to a Child Protective Services investigation and get “permission” to home educate.
Child protective services should have been involved, but not because the parents decided to homeschool. Homeschool student counseling should be implemented. Demanding CPS gets involved with all families is draconian. I do not recommend what you suggest.

Show me a case, where a child was abused at home. Then u can show me a case, where a public/ private school allowed children to be assaulted without the parents knowledge. Each requires oversight. A Student Counseling task force/committee within the DOE needs to be created.
