Yikes: A day after John Lewis died, Republican Senate candidate Mark Curran blasted him, says he may have been “instrumental” in civil right fight “at one time” but “got in bed with Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry.” Links it to Chicago gun violence.

I simply pointed out that although he was a hero of the Civil Rights Era, he later became a champion of abortion & defender of Planned Parenthood which are responsible for killing 19 million+ black babies since 1973. And that's a fact.

I'm not tying myself to anyone. I'm still the same reasonable Republican I've been. I've broken with my party on several positions, including immigration and a wealth tax. I'm not a puppet of Donald Trump. But I am a Republican.

I'm unapologetically pro-life. As sheriff I was outspoken about my defense of the unborn. I haven't changed my positions one bit. So I don't fully grasp how you think I have.

No. My Catholic faith forbids it. When I say Pro-Life, I mean I'm against abortion and capital punishment.
This is why you don't make assumptions about candidates just because they have an "R" next to their name. #ILSen #Twill #ProLife
