Text from APD officer: “I can confirm the walk-off is real. Whole shifts have left and overnight shifts are refusing to come in”

And they won't be the last. 99% of LEOs are good ppl who uphold their oath & do a thankless job. Why would they continue to do it if they're receiving even more hate? While being shamed & smeared for the actions of a few bad apples? I mean would you do that job?

Rather than walking out shouldn’t the good guys just out the bad guys? They will be protected now more than ever. Shouldn’t be hard, much easier that quitting and losing your pension. IDK LOGIC IS TOUGH IN 2020

Again, I was more commenting on the general atmosphere surrounding
#lawenforcement right now than the specific incident down in Georgia.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
More good LEO’s need to call out the bad ones. There’s lots of bad ones but, I hope there are more good. I see so many LEOs abuse their power every day all day. Most of us don’t trust any of you b/c SCOTUS says you are there to enforce serve the gov. not protect & serve the ppl.

Scott, I hear you. Do you think most chiefs/sheriffs like to hear that the men/women they lead aren't trusted by the public they serve? We don't. We pour our lives into the job & into gaining/maintaining public trust. We cannot do our jobs effectively without public trust.

Honestly. I don’t think many Chiefs/Sheriffs care. That’s the thing about being a leader, it’s All. On. You. Your people follow your orders. You determine the culture of your originization. The general public has zero trust in the police for a reason and it’s the leaders problem.

I don't disagree that the buck stops with them. I know it did with me. But the public doesn't see the majority of what goes on before the camera turned on. What they see is the video that shows a fraction of what the reality of policing is. I want more transparency, not less.

That’s such a micro event to focus on. Cops double parking and the city writing parking tickets, warrantless searches, the beatings, the killings of unarmed people of all color & creed. It’s rampant across the country. Iterally all day every day. These feelings didn’t just happen

I'm not saying it just happened. I understand the issues between #lawenforcement and minority communities. There is a deficit of trust between LEOs & the public they serve, especially right now. I'm just one man offering my perspective & trying to have an open, honest discussion.
